This installation was inspired by the rock garden at Ryo-Anji temple in Kyoto, where the arrangement is such that only fourteen of the garden’s fifteen stones are visible from any given vantage point along the viewing platform. For this installation, exactly fourteen of the twenty-six piles of bricks are visible from each of the four corners of the gallery.
